If you read the Hypoglycemic Diet I am not only emphasizing avoidance of refined sugar, and more frequent meal, but the consumption of animal derived food, such as eggs, chicken, meat, beef, organ meats and animal fats to ensure the consumption of all twenty-two amino acids and nutrients required to supply all the ingredients to manufacture feel-good neurotransmitters, in order to feel good about oneself. Plant sources can supply the necessary nutrients, but the shift towards plant based diet, since the 1950's, combined with the rise of the food industry pollution, including genetically modified foods, have made it more difficult for humans to obtain all the nutrients that our hunter-gatherer forefathers were able to obtain. Just avoiding the sugars is not enough, it requires the consumption of high nutrient dense food sources to feel satisfied and stop the cravings. Nutritional supplements do not always do the job, because there is a close interaction between the various nutrients that cannot always be obtained by artificial means. I that regard it may be worthwhile to read: Hit or Miss Supplemenats for Depression

thanks Jur.
a question about the hypoglycemic diet.
if it takes 3 months to begin to work in a person who hasn't used drugs, what happens after say a weeks holiday with a lot of alchohol consumption? does this mean it takes another 3 months after the holiday to begin to work again?
i have used the hypoglycemic diet for a few years now since we first spoke. but i have never eliminated alchohol.

If occasional use of alcohol does not affect you adversely, it would indicate that that that use is OK. It is matter of individuality. You know whether you can tolerate alcohol or not. I myself has lost the taste for alcohol, and I do not enjoy it anymore. I usually have a tomato juice.

that's the other issue isn't it. if you are out and turn down the alchohol, your other choices are usually sugary drinks like orange juice or coca cola, when the whole point is to avoid the sugar
my alchohol use is becoming less and less.

I don't see any objection to the consumption of alcohol in moderation. There are plenty of alternatives. There are plenty of sweet drinks with alternative sweeteners again in moderation. Your body will tell you whether you are on th right track. Don't be too hard on yourself.
