Just wondering if anyone reading this site has pyroluria and what your symptoms were like and what treatments helped you and how you feel now.

Well anyway, I did a test for pyroluria, so I am just waiting for the results in the next few days hopefully.

Update: I tested negative for pyroluria, my test result came back at 11. Above 20 means there is a concern.

Because it is a relatively common condition that is really treatable. So it's totally worth it to at least test for this. I found that my symptoms were closely related to those of low b6 and zinc, which is the result of pyroluria.

presumably topping up b6 and zinc is the answer then? or is it not always that simple

Yeah man that's basically the treatment. With a few notables: 1) I think pyroluria treatment might also need other nutrients to support the b6 and zinc absorption and utility. 2) Pyroluria needs to be treated with very high levels of zinc and b6, as far as I know, which would probably be toxic for someone who doesn't have the condition.

The test is the kryptopyrrole test.

I question the reality of this diagnosis so I collected enough urine to sent to 3 separate labs and to each lab under 2 to 4 different patient names.
I am a medical journalist so this was part of my work.
Not one of 9 tests matched and two of the same labs reported high numbers and with the same specimen also totally normal numbers. These were the three top labs in the USA.

Well that's weird. I read about pyroluria in the book "mental and elemental nutrients" which is a really good book I think.

Might be a good book but unless the labs are credible the diagnosis in worthless
